From David Erickson, President/CEO

Dear ECHO Friends,

As you browse through this abbreviated issue of ECHO News, there is one theme that will keep appearing – relationships. Relationships are central to who we are, what we do, how we do it, and the life-changing results we see.

Over the past almost 40 years, ECHO has consistently built relationships with development workers and organizations all around the world. Because we seek to “complement and complete” their work — not compete with them — ECHO is widely respected and welcomed. Because of relationships, we have the privilege of being the recipient of hard-won lessons learned that we can then share with others who will benefit. Relationships also mean that the impact of ECHO goes far…and wide. The people we train continue to systematically share their learning with their families, neighbors, and communities. And, in record numbers people everywhere in the world come to ECHOcommunity for practical knowledge and proven solutions.

It is our relationship with you that makes these life-transforming relationships possible. It is our relationship with you that gives “hands and feet” to our Hope Against Hunger. It is our relationship with you that enables people to know a hope that lasts forever. Thank you for stretching-out your hand to us during these very challenging times – I hope you enjoy seeing the ways your generosity is touching lives all around our hurting world.

With thanksgiving,

David Erickson President/CEO

P.S. Because of all of these remarkable relationships, we can humbly and confidently say that “…through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:11

Intern Spotlight: Chris Jordan

I have since been blessed to learn the gift of community as an intern at ECHO. With its emphasis on broad exposure to agricultural practices, appropriate technologies, and underutilized crops/plants, I have learned just how much I still have left to learn!
